Optimist Autumn Activities
The Autumn racing calendar started with a bang for the Optimist class. The BSC Oppie Open was a huge success, seeing nearly 80 sailors from across the country compete. 37 Oppies raced in the main fleet and a further 38 in the regatta fleet. What a fantastic showing from Bosham Sailing Club at the GBR 420 National Championships in Brixham! Seven Bosham sailors took on one of the toughest youth fleets in the country over the August Bank Holiday weekend and came home with plenty to celebrate. Fundraising BBQ for Breast Cancer Now - Thank you
Thank you to all those members who supported the fundraising BBQ for Breast Cancer Now on Bank Holiday Monday. A whopping £1750 was raised, far exceeding our expectations, and the charity are delighted. To quote Breast Cancer Now: £1,500 could pay for around 1 working week of science in the lab. Yachting World DayBoat Week 2026
Yachting World DayBoat Week 2026 There was a record breaking fleet of 38 DayBoats at this year's DayBoat Week held in Poole Harbour under the auspices of Poole Yacht Club. Bosham Stream - Important Update
After this prolonged period of dry weather the upper reaches of the Bosham Stream are at risk of running very low or even dry. We do not think this has happened in living memory. The Bosham Stream is a chalk stream, not a winterbourne stream. Coupled with the leak that remains unrepaired near the corner of Ratham Lane this means twildlife along the lower reaches and millstream is similarly threatened. We have
