Bosham Junior Week is a week long racing and social event that is a MUST if you are 8 to 18 years old. Great, competitive racing coupled with a hectic social programme make this the teenage (and younger!) sailing and social event of the year! Junior Week is our major Cadet event of the year and offers:

  • Class racing for 8 cadet classes - Gold & Silver Optimists, Toppers (4.2 & 5.3 rigs), RS Fevas, 420's and Laser Radial
  • Up to 12 races for the all fleets over six days in Chichester Harbour
  • 'Fun' races in the afternoons
  • Action-packed social life for cadets and parents
  • Memories that will last a life time

Full details of entry qualification requirements can be found here Qualification Requirements and in the downloads below.

Our sailing base is at Cobnor

All competitors must be members of BSC, a Federated Chichester Harbour Club or an RYA affiliated club. In order to enter, they must have completed a minimum of 4 races between 14th August 2021 and 5th June 2022. The only exception is made to competitors in their A level year (Year 13) who do not need to do any qualifying races. Any queries in relation to qualification must be directed to the Class Captains.

Online entry forms will be available from Monday 6th June 2022. Entry deadline is 23.59 on Sunday 26th June 2022. After this date there is a late entry surcharge and is subject to availability.

Classes which take part are Optimist, Topper, RS Feva, International 420 and Laser Radial. Each day of racing starts with a briefing for all sailors and parents followed by 1-3 races per fleet according to the wind/weather followed by a variety of fun races organised by the Cadet Committee.

The social events are an integral part of Bosham Junior Week. Once announced, all social bookings will need to be pre-booked by 31st July 2022.

To take part, every competitor must supply adults to do a minimum of two duties i.e. land or water based duties. These adults must also be members of BSC, a Federated Chichester Harbour Club or an RYA affiliated club. Please note, any non-BSC members will need to pay a temporary membership fee in order to carry out their duties. To apply for your duties, please log into the BSC duty roster. This will go live on Monday 27th June 2022.
